Due to a number of extenuating circumstances, Hayley and David Killam, with much regret, have decided that they are unable to hold the 2015 Invitational in December 2015. It is NOT being cancelled, but simply being postponed to 2016.
In other words, all dogs who would have been invited in 2015 will still be invited to run, but it will be in December 2016.
This will become the new cadence for this event. The Top 12 dogs each year, will be identified when the Dog of the Year points are compiled in January of the following year. This will allow any Championships held in December to be included in the numbers.
Invitations will go out early in 2016, and the final roster of dogs should be finalized by April 2016. This will give all invitees plenty of time to make plans and ensure their dogs are trained and conditioned to handle this demanding three day event.
Our thanks go to David and Hayley Killam for the work and resources they have invested in the success of this premier event. We believe this situation and the resulting changes will make the NGSPA Open Shooting Dog Invitational even stronger.

IMPORTANT - A group of Amateur owner/handlers has been batting around the idea of having an Amateur Invitational. It would follow the lines of the Open Shooting Dog Invitational held in Missouri each December. The event would be held in early September in Nebraska and run on Prairie Chickens. The qualification period would start with the Sharptail Championship in September and run through the spring season. Trophies, additional prizes, and related details have yet to be determined. The first event would be held in early September of 2016.
Please, if you are interested we would appreciate your comments. They can be forwarded to Mike Patrick (email@example.com) or Keith Bryant (firstname.lastname@example.org). Your interest in this event is important to us and we need your response ASAP.
